“S.W.A.T.” meets “Infernal Affairs”.

A passionate SDU officer is thrown out of the service for gross misconduct due to unnecessary violence as a front to infiltrate a ring of lawless mercenaries aiming to take several U.S. dignitaries hostage.

Synopsis

    The Hong Kong government learns that a mercenary team has arrived in HK and is planning a significant act of terrorism. To find out what is being planned, they recruit the services of the SDU: Special Duties Unit with SDU officer Chan recruited for the assignment. After faking his dismissal from the SDU for gross misconduct, he goes undercover offering his services to the mercenary group. He wins their trust but is detected meeting his wife, knowing this the mercenary group decide to use Chan as a part of their plan without letting him know that he has been found out.

    The mercenary team kills the SDU go-between after tailing Chan to a meeting, and later take his wife and child hostage. Before he can report what he has learned to his superiors, the mercenary team gain access to the American ambassasors residence during a dinner party for several esteemed foreign guests and hold them for ransom. When it becomes clear that negotiations will not work, the SDU are despatched to deal with the mercenaries. During the siege, Chan is disarmed but manages to send a message via morse code light to the Police outside. The SDU signal back that a raid will take place at 9am, so Chan will be prepared when the power to the building is cut.

    At the appointed time, Chan disarms one of the mercenaries and takes his weapon. The SDU gain access to the building and Chan joins the SDU team in battling the mercenary team. Finally he comes face to face with the teams leader for a final confrontation.
